Mobile Shore Power.
Ventus Maritime shifts green energy to every berth – a flexible, innovative mobile onshore supply solution. Instead of high investment costs,
port operators pay a predictable usage fee. Ports and shipping companies benefit from an attractive electricity price.
Full speed ahead!
Shore power supply reloaded.
Ventus Maritime is much more than onshore power supply (OPS) made mobile. We carry the investments in infrastructure and manage ongoing operations. The port operator concentrates on his core business – and benefits with every charging process by contributing to grid stability (vessel-to-grid).

Ventus Maritime.
Part of a strong group.
Ventus Maritime is part of the VentusVentures Group, which combines renewable energy with smart storage solutions and energy trading. We offer calculable fees for port operators, shipping and transport companies, and property owners.
Our electricity is generated by our own wind and solar farms. We integrate energy production, trading, storage and consumption in one group of companies. Thus we create a scalable network of balancing groups which support each other and lead to efficient use of renewable energies. Power purchase agreements (PPA) are concluded in all areas. Balancing group managers monitor the overall system.
Key Figures
Challenge for port operators
From 2030, port operators must offer onshore power supply for container and cruise ships with 5,000 gross tonnage (GT) or more at all berths in EU ports. This is a major economic challenge, as the CAPEX for a onshore power terminal can add up to 15 million euros. So far, not all European commercial ports have been able to afford this investment. Ventus Maritime helps port operators to fulfil their obligation rapidly and economically by 2030 without overstretching themselves financially.
Innovative mobile shore power supply solution
We provide green energy from our own generation, invest in mobile shore power systems and infrastructure, and lease shore-power-as-a-service for use at a calculable price. There are no investment costs for the port operator, and we also take care of reliable and safe operation. Ventus Maritime implements the transformation quickly and cost-effectively.
Advantages for port operators
Our mobile shore power solution integrates grid-supportive energy management as an add-on for port operators. In addition to conventional shore power facilities, we provide mains power throughout the entire port area. Together, Floating Power Units and Energy Hub help advancing electrification. With Ventus Maritime’s mobile shore power supply, both port authorities and shipowners make a significant contribution to the decarbonisation of port operations.

PLUS energy management
Speaking of hardware, the Energy Hub is sort of an interface for connecting renewables to the energy market. Floating Power Units are being charged at the Energy Hub, and the flexibility generated by the battery is traded – physically starting from this point. When fully charged, Floating Power Units are being shifted from the Hub to any berth where they are needed.
While the ship stays at berth, the Floating Power Unit provides shore power. After finishing the service, the Floating Power Units are being moved to the next customer – or back to the Energy Hub for Recharging.

Vessel-to-grid: benefits from energy tradingClimate friendly shore power
Our sister company VentusVentures Energy supplies and trades electricity from our own wind and solar parks. Thus customers benefit from calculable long term prices and climate-friendly operation.
Smart energy management
Renewable energy must be stored to be available at all times. Ventus Maritime utilises the Floating Power Unit for this task. While it is connected to the Energy Hub, battery power can be fed back to the power grid.
Additional revenue through V2G
Our bidirectional solution (vessel-to-grid) contributes to grid stability and enables port operators to participate in the energy market. Provision of energy is remunerated by grid operators. Port operators benefit from these add-on revenues.
